Establishment of the Joint Lab of Intellisensing
2016年11月29日下午，上海海洋大学客座教授Antonio Liotta授聘仪式暨海洋智能感知国际合作实验室成立仪式在我校信息学院举行。仪式由信息学院党委书记程彦楠主持，上海海洋大学副校长李延臣、人事处处长俞渊、信息学院黄冬梅院长和学院广大师生出席了仪式。
On the afternoon of November 29, 2016, the ceremony for conferring Antonio Liotta on the Guest Professor position and announcing the establishment of the Joint Lab of Intellisensing was held at the College of Information Technology, Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU). The ceremony was presided over by Yannan Cheng, the Party Secretary of the College of Information Technology, and presented by the Vice-Chancellor of SHOU Yanchen Li, the Director of Human Resources Department Yuan Yu, the Dean of the College of Information Technology Dongmei Huang, and many other teachers and students from the College of Information Technology.
首先人事处俞渊处长介绍了Antonio Liotta教授的学术背景。AntonioLiotta，2001年英国伦敦大学计算机科学博士，是荷兰埃因霍芬理工大学的终身教授（Eindhoven University of Technology理工类世界排名46），IEEE 高级研究员，荷兰信息通信技术研究院的主席团成员，英国高等教育学术委员会成员，欧盟物联网和智慧城市项目的主要合作者；担任Springer出版的《物联网：技术，通信和计算》丛书的主编，国际期刊《Journal of Network and System Management》和《International Journal of Network Management》副主编，以及其他6本期刊的编委会成员；发表论文250多篇。
First, the Direct of HR, Mr. Yuan Yu introduced Prof. Antonio Liotta to all the attendee. Antonio Liotta obtained his PhD degree in 2001 from London University. He is a full professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, where he leads the Smart Communication Networks Lab since 2008. He is a Fellow of the U.K. Higher Education Academy, IEEE Senior Member, a contributing Chair to the Netherlands Institute for Research on ICT, and a leading partner in pilot EU projects on IoT (Inter-IoT) and Smart Cities. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Springer book series on Internet of Things, associate editor of the Journal of Network and System Management and the International Journal of Network Management, and serves the editorial board of 6 more journals. He has 6 patents and over 250 publications.
接着，李延臣副校长为Antonio教授颁发了客座教授聘书。黄冬梅院长和Antonio Liotta教授就“海洋智能感知国际合作实验室”成立签署了双方合作备忘录。“海洋智能感知国际合作实验室”由上海海洋大学信息学院和荷兰埃因霍芬理工大学Antonio Liotta教授共同发起，旨在充分发挥各方优势和特色，共同在海洋和环境感知及相关领域深入开展科学研究，不断拓宽合作领域、提高合作水平，联合申报地方和国家的重大科技创新项目，在相关领域形成具有国际影响力的实验室。目前，实验室与澳大利亚昆士兰科技大学也形成了初步合作意向。
Next, the Vice-Chancellor Yanchen Li awarded Antonio Liotta the Guest Professor offer.Then, Prof. Dongmei Huang and Prof. Antonio Liotta signed a memorandum on cooperation attentions about the Joint Lab for Intellisensing. The Joint Lab aims to make full use of both sides’ advantages and resources to conduct scientific research in Marine and Environmental Sensing and the related fields, enhance academic exchanges, apply for local and national major scientific and technological innovation projects, and form international influence in the related fields.
最后，李校长发表致辞，对Antonio Liotta教授来我校开展学术交流工作表示感谢，对信息学院海洋智能感知国际合作实验室的成立表示祝贺，并寄希望于信息学院师生进一步加强国际交流合作和学生培养，促进智慧海洋领域的科研发展，不断提升学院的国际知名度和学术影响力。
In the end, the Vice-Chancellor Li in his speech expressed his appreciation of Antonio Liotta’s visit and congratulated the establishment of the Joint Lab. He hoped that colleagues and students at the College of Information Technology would grasp this opportunities to further strengthen the international academic exchanges and collaborations, promote the scientific research on Smart Ocean, and make more people know SHOU.
聘任仪式结束后，Antonio Liotta教授为信息学院师生做题为“Big and Small Data-Mining in the Internet of Things“学术报告。报告围绕庞大感知网络所面临的大数据特点和网络复杂性等挑战，探讨了物联网、数据科学和网络科学之间的联系，提出了一些基于自然计算、仿生学启迪法的环境感知、传感网络通信等方法。演讲激发了广大研究生们的兴趣，同学们踊跃提问，现场气氛热烈。
After the conferment ceremony, our Guest Professor Antonio Liotta provided a seminar with the title of“Big and Small Data-Mining in the Internet of Things”. He focused on the challenges of big data and network complexity in the Internet of Things (IoT), discussed the links between IoT, data science and network science, and illustrated a number of ways in which nature-inspired computations help mastering IoT systems and networks. His talk simulated the students’ interests. The atmosphere in the meeting room kept warm and high with the Q&A interactions between the students and Antonio.
接下来，Antonio Liotta教授在上海海洋大学信息学院开展了为期四天的工作，内容包括：学术讲座、国际合作实验室建设、与信息学院师生进行科研探讨，以及国际会议ICNSC 2017海洋感知主题（http://icnsc2017.dimes.unical.it/MS.html）的组织等相关事宜。
In the following four days, Prof. Antonio Liotta had conducted a series of works, including academic lectures, development of the Joint Lab, research discussion with teachers and students, co-organization of the Marine Sensing special session in the International Conference ICNSC 2017 (http://icnsc2017.dimes.unical.it/MS.html）, and so on.
